The Early Identification Program welcomes Mason College students into various student working roles within our program, recognizing the invaluable contributions they bring to our mission. Position Description
EIP Office assistants provide administrative support to EIP staff. They also provide assistance in preparing various program components and serve as the first point of contact with EIP students and families on a daily basis through phone and face-to-face interactions. Office Assistants will be expected to perform the following tasks:
Customer Service
- Answer telephones promptly
- Forward telephone calls correctly
- Have strong spoken and written communication skills
Computer usage and data entry
- Assist in updating website and social media sites
- Word processing for correspondence as follow-up with students
- Assist in design and printing of publications
- Data entry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse students and families;
- Comfortable multi-tasking;
- Able to communicate effectively orally;
- Availability to work at a minimum of three (3) Saturday and night EIP events;
- Knowledge of the Spanish language (optional)

The Academic Success Mentors will play an integral role in supporting the delivery of academic supports needed for academic and personal success through EIP’s Academic Mentoring Program. These supports comprise of tutoring, academic coaching, and ultimately helping students realize their academic potential. The Academic Success Mentors role will be an in person position during the Fall and spring semesters.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate/graduate college students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Able to provide academic assistance to students in English, Math, Science, History and/or other subjects
- Able to work with minors and pass a Mason background check in addition to county/school background checks

These supports comprise primarily of mentoring a caseload of students through one-on-one goal-setting conversations. The CSA role will be an in person position.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate/graduate college students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Able to provide intentional, one-on-one support to students and push them to their goals
- Prior mentoring experience preferred
- Able to work with minors and pass a Mason background check in addition to county/school background checks

Position Description
Summer Academy Mentors are essential in providing support to our EIP students during our Summer Academy at Masons Fairfax Campus. They serve as a positive and supportive role model to groups of high school students. Lead and facilitate enrichment activities for groups of high school students. Summer Academy is a 3-week, intensive academic enrichment program for High School students rising 9th through 12th graders.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate college students with a GPA above 2.5
- Flexibility and potential for leadership
- Experience leading activities or mentoring groups of students
- Graduating EIP High School Seniors are welcome to apply
Requirements:
Commit to being present for full program dates: July 8th – July 26th from 8AM-3PM

Position Description
The STEM Fusion Specialist (SFS) role plays an integral role in EIP’s STEM Fusion, an enrichment program designed to strengthen students understanding of scientific and mathematical concepts. STEM Fusion introduces students to interactive online instructions as well as the opportunity to learn Game Design, Computer Programming, Careers in Health Sciences, and other STEM careers.
The SFS works closely with Instructors to deliver and help students understand course content. The SFS role will be an in-person position for 2024-2025.
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate/graduate college students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Strong Math and/or Science background
- Access to a reliable internet network and a working computer
- Able to work with minors and pass a Mason background check in addition to county/school background checks
- Ability to attend mandatory training and all five sessions
