Biography
Ingrid Méndez was born and raised in Guatemala. She was the first in her family to attend college, pursuing studies in Guatemalan law. Her educational journey ignited a deep passion for helping others. She is a proud Guatemalan immigrant and an advocate for fellow immigrants and underserved communities. Her background and bilingual ability allow her to connect deeply with the challenges faced by first generation individuals, particularly in the EIP community
Ingrid has experience working for the Guatemalan government, focusing on community engagement and support. Additionally, she managed projects and worked with international groups to efficiently allocate resources and complete a myriad of projects in communities throughout the country. After dedicating time to raising her two children, she decided to combine her passions at George Mason to help youth achieve their full potential.
Her experiences have shaped her unwavering commitment to empowering others, with her children as her greatest motivation. Ingrid’s story is one of resilience, determination, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in people’s lives.
