Biography
Dr. Mia Hines is an equity warrior. She is passionate about supporting underrepresented and first-generation college students prepare for college and beyond. Prior to joining the EIP Family, Dr. Hines advised students interested in becoming a teacher with an emphasis on recruiting and retaining students of color into teacher preparation programs for eight years at The University of Connecticut and Florida State University. In addition, Dr. Hines worked as a high school counselor in Maryland and North Carolina where she gained an extensive background in developing college and career readiness programs that assisted underrepresented students with matriculating through college. In an effort to support classroom teachers, Dr. Hines also obtained a school administrator license and has worked on school administration teams. Dr. Hines earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership in Policy Studies from Florida State University, a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from High Point University, a M.Ed. in School Counseling from University of Maryland, and a B.S. in Rehabilitation Services from The Pennsylvania State University.
